Default Researching stocks --- how/where to start

What's the method to the madness?

When you found a company you're interested in, where do you begin the research? DO you start with financials, specific charts, trading volume?\

I've looked through several threads in this section, and have found several resources... just wondering if there's a 1,2,3 process you seasoned traders take when analyzing a company.
