![]() | MP -- shamelessly off topic ! but ive lived with it for a few years and keep forgetting to share it ! I USE A PRE-PAID DEBIT CARD ! oh, wow --- thnx for sharing mike but i think ill go back to washing the car ! i use it to pay all my on line bills and since it is NOT connected to my bank in any manner, theft is impossible, as is theft from the latest round of scams from a bank telling you to "update your debit card info" THERE IS NO INFORMATION AND THERE IS NO LINK TO THE BANK ! total freedom from any financial theft on the internet ! enjoy mp |

![]() | Very good advice MP. Even "net" savy folks can fall prey. I always check whois records for online stores, look to see if the site is secure, and ensure there are no redirects...but what if an online stores server gets compromised? Bingo -- potential for CC theft. |

![]() | hey since most of us do not regularly do the things you do for verification purposes, i find that a limited amount of funds available in a debit card, whatever the amount you are comfortable with, is the best insurance available. not to forget that most internet crime is still done at the point of purchase and by insiders, who simply steal the information --- not necessarily by wily internet savy crooks ! it just works for me ! regards mp |
