ah ---- we have seen the future and it has bitten us on the nether regions !

or to say it in a different manner, if i can come up with a program that trades as well as it does, IMAGINE what those 5 kids in a garage will be doing ?

presently, therumpledone over at stockfetcher.com has a program (the slot machine) that does most of what tradebot does, except for scanning for stocks (and there are some reasonably inexpensive real time scanners out there that are VERY good !) and doing the actual buying and selling (which stills needs a monkey to press the button at the right time --- which is, i imagine, when the program blinks red !)

i have noticed a definite change in how both long and short positions are being daytraded over the past few years, going from buy in the morning and hold to HOD (LOD for your group !) *(mikeys method is admirable for that, therumpled ones "slot machine" is good !) to waiting for a stock to hit support level, and buying in anticipation of the bounce (mikeys very good, slot machine very good !) to "scalping" (the latest trend out there now, although very popular back in the 90's) for which the slot machine is excellent and mikeys has not really been tested) !

although it requires a pattern day traders account, the latest round of scalping (very short term holds with small moves but large numbers of shares) is paying off ADMIRABLY because of the volatility in the intraday markets ----- that volitility simply creates marvelous opportunities for scalps of minutes to an hour duration and the payout is VERY nice indeed !

i guess the next NEW THING shall be BUY AND HOLD ----- what a concept !!! ***(LOL)

trade well
