| Member | Some Stock Contest Thoughts Hey Guys Nice Stock Pick Application….. I said something about this over a year ago…… I also understand how hard it is to put all the feeds and design and Software together and make them work. Awesome job on this……. I really feel that people will flock to this site for the Stock Pick Contest if you can really just nail this application Biff’s 5 Thought 1—when you enter your stock pick also has the ability to add comments about the pick and it would show up under the Quote. 2—A Tab that will let you see everyone’s pick In the contest Their Rank + % gain in a quick reference guide 3—the ability to click on any persons pick from any page it is on and See a Quote and Comments 4—are able to pick Canadian stocks 5.—Be careful to stay away from that No Volume……Micro penny that only has to end the week on an off trade to go off UP +200% , yet there is no way anyone could or should trade it…….. I am sure you have thought of most of this stuff…………. And I am no means picking a fight I really like the application….. Biff |

![]() | Meant to add suggestions, too! 1. It would be nice to see how many total picks there are (even if you only display a handful). 2. I think you can fit more picks in the chart across the page. 3. I think you can display ALL picks down the page, but only chart, say the top 10? 4. It would be nice to have a second chart to see how players stack up over time (even if they are not repeat players). I mean, if someone plays this week, and they are #4, but next week they are #17, etc, show averages for all players. In that scenario, it would also need to show how many times they have played, so users can understand the weight of the averages, based on number of times they play. Averages can be over all time, or for any given time frame (quarter, year, all, etc. With Excelsius, you can even build drill downs to show each of those time periods!). One time players that "average" higher would carry less weight because they are one time players. Their higher "average" is because they played once vs. 20 times for others....You could even go so far as to create a weighting calculation (sort of a sliding curve based on all players). Looks great so far! I like it the way it is, and don't want to seem insensitive to the amount of work that I know goes into this sort of thing!

...oh, and to answer your question, it's running off of a MySQL DB. Terry | |

![]() | Should I send you a PM with my bank account #, so to make it easier for you to send me the ...![]() Nice contest ! I am still with BKMP, but will probably change it, as for next week, I expect it to move in the range 0.0004 to 0.0006 consolidating this breakout. I'm guessing PLYCF could be a pick, or maybe DVPC, or MXXR... GLTA, DonLeopoldoLast edited by Donleopoldo : Sat, 01-13-2007 at 10:35 AM. |
