Yahoo ended the day lower by over 4 points and Microsoft was lower by less than a quarter point at the closing bell. Rumor mill has it that Yahoo shareholders may initiate a lawsuit since the price offered by Microsoft, was appealing to them. (read more)

Metals Markets: Gold (CMX) gained $16.20 to close at $874.20 ($US per Troy oz.); Silver (CMX) gained $0.37 to close at $16.83 ($US per Troy oz.); Platinum (NYM) gained $19.20 to close at $1,927.40 ($US per Troy oz.) and Copper (CMX) gained $0.13 to close at $3.95 ($US per lb.).

Livestock and Meat Markets (cents per lb.): Lean Hogs (CME) gained 1.25 to close at 73.20; Pork Bellies (CME) gained 0.15 to close at 74.85; Live Cattle (CME) shed 0.93 to close at 91.20; Feeder Cattle (CME) gained 0.10 to close at 108.25.

Other Commodities (cents per bu.): Corn (CBT) shed 3.75 to close the session at 594.00 and Soybeans (CBT) gained 33.50 to close the session at 1,286.00.

Bonds were higher across the board today: 2 year bond gained 2/32 to close at 99 13/32 with a Yield of 2.42, Yield Change -0.04; 5 year bond gained 3/32 to close at 99 27/32 with a Yield of 3.15, Yield Change -0.02; 10 year bond closed at 97 3/32 with a Yield of 3.85, Yield Change 0.00; the 30 year bond shed 6/32 to close at 96 16/32 on the day with a Yield of 4.59, Yield Change +0.02.
