Stock Chat Room Rules

Many of you have asked for this as a reference for the chat room. Please read this carefully and try to help out the newer members in chat so they understand what we expect here at StockHideout.com We ask our moderators to give 1 warning and if you do not follow our request then we will remove you (ban or kick) from the chat room.

Rules for the chat room: (Chat Room Link: Stock Hideout Video Chat)

#1. Treat others the way you would want to be treated (and sometimes better!!)

#2. Be respectful in your discussions with people. We do NOT tolerate swearing or any foul language as this room is occupied by a variety of different people. (Rule of thumb, if you think you shouldn�t say it, then you probably SHOULDNT!)

#3. Please go to the appropriate room to talk about your stocks. We have 3 main stock chat rooms....1 "MAIN" room for .01 to 3.00$ stock discussions a 2nd room for .01 and under "Sub Penny chat room" and a 3rd stock room for $3.00 and over big board chat room. We also have a "Non Stock Talk" off topic room that we politely ask people to use if they want to go and talk about things other than stocks. You CAN tab back and forth from room to room, so you can be in more than 1 room at a time.
To get to the other rooms just click on the "ROOMS" icon in the upper right of the chat screen and then click on JOIN next to the room that you would like to discuss your stock in.

#4. Please do not "PUMP" your stock all day long. What we mean by this is when you want to talk about your stock/company please also include some reasons why we should look at your stock. For example.....just saying "ABC IS GOING TO RUN" is not a proper post, but saying "ABC is looking good here at support levels of .30" is a much better post or "Check out ABC they just released news about a joint venture with "X" Please also provide any LINKS that will back up your post.

#5. Please do not SPAM our chat room with links to other sites/newsletters

#6. If you would like to talk to someone specific then click on their name and do a private chat with that person. It will allow the rest of the room to continue to focus on stocks and not your 1 on 1 discussion.

A few things to make your chat room experience smoother

1. To disable who enters and exits the chat room or "system messages" Click on the blue "cog" type icon in the upper right of the chat screen, just above the user list and then click on the "General" tab which is on the far left of the pop up window. UNCHECK "Show system messages". You can also disable your webcam from this tab

You can also change your "FONT" and "SOUND" options from this same new pop up window by unchecking boxes and changing font color as well as adding BOLD feature.

2. To STOP AUTO SCROLL: Click on the 3rd icon in the lower left of your chat screen (the icon between the bell and the smile face) and click on STOP SCROLL (now you will need to use the slider bar to move the chat up and or down) You can do the same process to do "Start scroll" later if you want.

From this same icon you can disable timestamp and disable user icon by their names. This helps clear up some of the chat room "stuff" for easier viewing IMO.
