MP -- "SCALPING" WITH MIKEYS METHOD !

hey,

ok, this came out of a conversation with the "rumpledone" during a really slow period of trading last thursday and is interesting for those of you who have the ability to "scalp" stocks.

using all the normal parts of mikeys method for quotetracker, simply add the bollingers and the keltner channel as an overlay on the intraday charts (the 10 or 15 minute being the best, in this case). this method owes its origins presently to the tradestation groups, as traders there use it often !

when the keltner bands are INSIDE of the bollinger bands, a buy opportunity exists, and of course for a SELL, it is the opposite (or for a short). you will see that the band movement coincides with the movement of the rest of the mikeys indicators, but it does set up an interesting visual information source.

also i have just set up one panel of my intradays according to "mookies" "slotmachine for qt" instructions and will be trying it out this coming week.

the RSIWRL analyzer has not been altered as it does exactly what its supposed to be doing and is, in my opinion, one of the fastest ways to check a stock for positive or negative movement before entering a momo trade that i know of. although ive been trying a few differing things that are very interesting, the greatest SINGLE improvement would be real-time charts !

were still fooling around hither and yon, and will update as new and exciting is released !

trade well

Sounds interesting, and I know it will be good, but not exactly the thing to do when you have a job!

MP -- SCALPING WITH MM !

hey fibman,

ya, true enough, unless your job is on wall street perhaps ! but it does work nicely for scalping and i was using it for SAMC today, very nicely indeed !

ive also set up qt using "mookies" "slotmachine" setup with the paintbars, but that also is for scalping, although it "could" be used for an intraday play once you learn it !

enjoy

Parameters for additional indicators

What parameters are you using for the Bollinger Bands and Keltner Bands? The defaults in QT are: Bollinger Bands (10,2) and Keltner Bands (10) with an offset of 1. Also, do we adjust the scale? Just curious if you've deviated from the defaults. Thanks

============================================

hey mookie,

actually using those indicators on your "paintbar" version of the "slotmachine" and working out nicely so far! thnx again for your efforts !

my settings for the bols is 10/1.5 (as per bollinger himself) and 9/1 for the keltner, with "adjust scale" enabled !

but as always, no one has written that in stone at the moment, but they work nicely !

trade well
