![]() | Heikin Ashi Mikey, Some of your intraday charts in your manual/handbook look suspiciously like Heikin Ashi charts (EZTO charts on Page 28 are one example). Do you recommend using HA charts and if not, how do you recommend using them? Snap |

![]() | MP -- Heiken-Ashi charts Quote:
ah, one of lifes little secrets has crept out of the woodwork ! Yes, i use Heiken-Ashi as well as regular candles but dont advertise the fact because they can create confusion, especially on the 3 month or longer charts. for intraday use, ALTHOUGH THEY DO NOT SHOW REVERSAL CANDLES AS DO REGULAR CANDLES, you will notice the SIZE of the candle becomes smaller as the interest in the stock begins to reverse at a support or resistance point. This can be seen also on most of the indicators and the "momentum" indicator but is an EXCELLENT "trader interest indicator" that fits my "visual" style of charting ! On the 3 month (or longer)/daily charts, Heiken-Ashi shows TRENDS far better than does the normal candle BUT often lacks the usual hammer, doji or other "reversal" candles, so can lead one to miss entries and exits. For this reason, WHEN FOLLOWING A TREND, I will use the Heiken Ashi and the moving averages to tell me how long to remain in, BUT switch over to regular candles to see if im getting any reversal signals of note. Heiken-Ashi candles "smooth" the trend and are VERY valuable for that reason, but like any "smoothing" indicator, one can miss the small signals that point to a different directional move for the stock in question, although WHEN HEIKEN ASHI SAYS GO, you go ! (but usually a day late) Essentially, I use both very carefully, and with experience one should be able to tell an awful lot about a stock by using both methods, which is so simple to do in quotetracker ! enjoy and trade well mp

![]() | MP -- MUDDY METHOD (SCANNER AND HISTORY) MP -- JON ROWE'S SCDS SCANNER ! -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- hey peoples take a look at this little market scanner that Jon Rowe came up with and see what it can do for you. it comes pre-arranged with the "muddy method" which youve heard me talk about 100's of times and you can have it scan for a tremendous amount of technical parameters ! MP =============================================== I've had several people contact and ask "What is the SmallCap Desktop Scanner?". I may not have explained it well enough so I figured I'd try again. The reason I had it developed is that I didn't have time to keep track of the stocks that appeared through the day and even if I did I had the following issues: 1. Missed stocks that show up then drop off so I needed to run at regular intervals 2. Between scan only a few of the 20-30 symbols would change and it was difficult to keep track of just the few that did 3. Create a unique list of all symbols throughout the day without duplicates 4. Easily export symbols for charting 5. Store all the symbols so I could go back several days and look for pullbacks 6. Filter out the tsx and tsx-v exchange 7. Have all 4 scans in one place and remove any duplicate symbols 8. Automatically start and stop each day when market opens/closes 9. Capture symbols without loading all my searches each day 10. Link to a charting application so I didn't have to copy/paste dozens of symbols to a charting application and then remove the ones that I didn't want to watch. 11. Track the time the stock first appeared I was able to resolve the above issues and more with the SCDS. Take a look at it I think you will find it eliminates several of the problems you have when you can't watch the market and even provides additional functionality for those who can. Others who have used it found it was the best way to take advantage of the SmallCap Center information. I've spent about 6 months and $4K developing so I'd say it's much more than a 'shareware' program. It even comes with a guide on how to trade the pullback candidates. I'm providing it for free until/if the StockGroup says I have to charge something (since it is their data and search engine). Regards, Jon SCDS Download: http://www.muddymoney.com/installs/f...lcap072905.zip To use: 1. After unzipping files double click on the smallcap072905.msi file to install 2. Go to Start>Programs>SmallCap Demo to launch 3. Click Scan All the Muddy/Avery/HG settings are already programmed and you will immediately see the list of recent results from Friday. If you leave it scanning tomorrow it will add all the symbols that came up during the day and the time each appeared. It can't get any easier to track and trade the SmallCap candidates. Although I'm happy to make the $$ from the candidates I'd feel better that the development effort was helping a large number of people in the Muddy group. So, do me a small favor and run it for just a few days to see if it helps. Thanks in advance, Jon

![]() | MP -- where to find the danged thing Quote:
the system is very good for the indexes because they tend to move in a more predictable manner -- try it for options on the Q's ! http://www.stockhideout.com/uploads/Freebie.pdf contains the complete instructions with charts and etc some thoughts are at http://www.stockhideout.com/mike-par...-method-2.html but the reality is that the whole thread is the instructions after you get it up and running, because there are specific answers to many questions, lots more charts and lots of keen stuff ! btw, have you taken a look at the RSIWLR and TER analyzer also --- although with realtime charts from prophet, the RSIWLR and TER are excellent stand alone trading systems, they were originally designed to find tops and bottoms on stocks (or anything else you can plug into them) and are super for the job of analysis without having to bother knowing much in the way of TA enjoy and trade well mp

![]() | MP6140 Thank you for caring. Will look at it right away. RSIWLR and TER ---> where will I find more about it?? As far as I have read these posts TER is something special as far as softwares are concerned!? Mine does not have the timeseries as well. Tricky situation, unless someone knows a substitute (more or less) for it. I assume that your link contains information about the daytrading version as well. Thanks once more. Charly |

WHAT doesnt have the timeseries ?? --- easily available on quotetracker or even the free version of prphet.net charts. the RSIWLR and TER are both analyzers (essentially nothing but a very VISUAL form of tech analysis for those who are not familiar with tech analysis, and for those who are) based on prophet.net charting but can also be used with prophet net REALTIME as a very effective trading tool, position, swing or intraday ! you will find it at http://www.stockhideout.com/mike-par...ng-stocks.html and you will find the TER analyzer at http://www.stockhideout.com/mike-par...-analyzer.html and the whole danged threads and all my info as well as questions and answers in my forumn, http://www.stockhideout.com/mike-parkers-method/ enjoy and trade well mp

![]() | Hi MP Thanks for all the great work you have ceated here. One of my problems with qt, on intraday is some times the momentum indicator is blank. Specialy if the stock is rallying at the time. What do I need to do? Is there any other indicator that I can rely on, or do I move on to another stock. TYIA. |
