RZ had a precipitous drop today and a bounce seems to be looming. So why such a big drop for the geothermal power producer?
9:25AM Raser Technologies announces $25.5 million registered direct offering ()3.85 : Co announces it will sell an aggregate of 8,550,339 units, with each unit consisting of (i) one share of its common stock, $0.01 par value per share and (ii) one warrant to purchase 0.50 shares of its Common Stock, in a registered direct offering for gross proceeds of approximately $25.5 million, before deducting placement agents’ fees and estimated offering expenses. The investors have agreed to purchase the units at a 22.5% ($0.86625) discount to the Common Stock’s closing price on June 29, 2009 of $3.85. Since it climbed back a bit from its bottom we can see that the panic is subsiding. I would look for a good size bounce for this one.

RZ has been dropping faster than a skydiver with a fishnet parachute. This all is related back to the fundraising that the company did at a greatly reduced stock price, LINK. What is left is the bounce that usually comes when the panic subsides. Since there was no pullback off the bottom before close we remain guarded but will still keep an eye pealed for when the opportunity materializes.

RZ: Bounce happened as called
RZ has done as we predicted last week in the wake of some market panic due to the way a round of financing was structured, as described here. Now we see our stand vindicated with a healthy +9% jump in today’s trading.
From yesterday: Steppin’ Raser The Market Order
I see a new trading opportunity here now that the offering has been closed. There should be some gains to be had based on this IMO.
