![]() | DayTraders in Training LEVEL II - What It Is ??? Investopedia Says: A trading service consisting of real-time access to the quotations of individual market makers registered in every Nasdaq listed security, as well as market makers' quotes in OTC Bulletin Board securities. ummmmmm okkkkk ??? For Da Daytrader: Allows you to see where each Market Maker stands on the BID and ASK as well as the realtime Time and Sales (T & S) of the desired security. These Market Makers (MMs) are institutions who regulate the OTCBB and PINKSHEET markets. The BID is the price which the MMs are willing to buy any given stock. The ASK is the Price which MMs are willing to sell any given stock. When you buy shares, you technically buy from the MMs. When you sell shares, you usually sell back to them (unless the stock is soaring and you sell at the ask....another time though). In order to buy in a tight spread, most people usually buy at the ASK (because the MMs have shown that it is the price they will sell to you at). In order to sell in a tight spread, people usually sell at the BID (because that is the price MMs have shown they will buy at). If there is a wide spread (close to or more than 10%) place a limit order at whatever you deem necessary (often just check the last trade price). BTW, you have to place a limit order to trade Bulletin Board stocks. This means you have to specify a price. Double check as to not make a FAT FINGER trade (i.e buying @ .08 when the stock is @ .008 ). It makes for a quick loss They can manipulate the price because its not always about supply and demand - MMs play games Bottom Line: Real Time Level II is Essential for Daytraders or Serious Traders LEVEL II - Where to Subscribe??? The two options I have heard the most of are stock quote products, stock quote systems - AlphaTrade and MicrocapTrade, Inc. Both are Realtime L2 with similar prices. I personally use Alphatrade and find it nice. I am finally accustom to the charting, however, everything else I don't use because of microcaptrade. FYI - there are rumors of microcaptrade coming out with L2 as part of their service. However, many brokers offer L2 service for at least Nasdaq/OTCBB with a certain balance in account or a certain # of trades over a time period (i.e. Ameritrade Apex). You would just need to subscribe for Pinksheet L2 (if you want to play them). Bottom Line: Real Time Level II is Essential for Daytraders or Serious Traders - but check delayed to get an Idea |

![]() | MICROCAPTRADE; WHAT? Run, don't walk. Run to MicrocapFeed Trading Platform. This is what most penny stock daytraders will tell you. Why? Well, first you must understand what Microcaptrade is. Microcaptrade realistically is the dashboard of the daytrader's pimped out ride. It tells you exactly what is going on under the hood, like the gauges and warking lights in your car sendin you signals. What is hot? What is cold? How is the market in general? Of course, this is only for our favorite OTCBB, PINKSHEETS, and MICROCAP stocks. The base of your microcaptrade is you launchpad (kinda like the E-Gate Menu with Alphatrade). Here is a list of the tools from your launchpad - once registered withem ![]() Top 400: Gives you the top 400 microcaps under any heading: Time, News, Symbol, Bid, Ask, Last, Net, %Change, Trades, Volume, and $ Volume. Why I love this? It is because if you watch with Time, you can see what is hot right now. Dog likes to scan the Net and start from the bottom to find what is just starting to run. Chart/Quote Montage: Gives Last Price, Change, % Change, BID, ASK, Open, Close, High, Low, Time & Sales, 5-10-15-20-30-60 avg volume, and News. Also gives you a 1 day to 1 year Real Time chart. They call this a Level 1.5 quote. This is because it is simply as good as you cen get without Level II. News & Filings: Will update you on News and annoucements all day. Before and After the Bell. Sort through them by Time, Symbol, Last Trade, Net, Volume, and Headline. FYI - Headlines are easy reads to filter through all news. You can also set parameters so that you see news for stocks which fit your criteria. Very important! Trading Alerts: This alerts you the trader of 52W High/Lows, 20 Day Avg. Vol, 20 Day Avg. Price, and Block Trades. MAJOR PLAYERS who are "in the know" play these signals on da big boards. Guess what, MAJOR PLAYERS work 'em here too 8) FYI - I wish I had a bankroll to be a MAJOR PLAYER dont we all! Streaming Filter: HAHA -I LOVE THIS PART. Learn how to use these with a perfectionist's demeanor. Mastery of these intraday, realtime filters will lead to your transformation from an avid and possibly abysmal swingtrader to becoming DA DAYTRADER; yes im yelling cuz i get excited bout this. Anything that is worth discussing about whether or not a stock may run can be input into these filters. You can even find a stock that is getting the ASK pinged. Gappers, Runners, Bleeders, and Volume Surges (very important IMO). Its all there, you have to see it to believe it. Personal Workspace: Very Simply, this watches anything you want it too. All the time you put in at night pays off by having this list. If one of your "radar stocks" starts to signal, run, or die then the PA (personal alert) window pops up justa let you know. Also, you can save your window configuration in order to keep efficient use of the desktop and save time = making money hopfully ![]() Check da scans, set da filters, play da game and keep learning. The next post will talk bout how to findem and how to play dis n dat. |
