MONTREAL, April 14 /CNW/ - AAER Inc. (TSX-V: AAE) ("AAER" or the "Company"), Canada's only original equipment manufacturer of wind turbines of 1 megawatt ("MW") and more, announced today that it has created AAER USA Inc. (AAER USA), a wholly-owned subsidiary incorporated under Delaware laws. Concurrently to its incorporation, AAER USA acquired 100% of Wind-Smart LLC, a Rhode Island consulting company dedicated to the development of community wind projects.

"Wind-Smart has a portfolio of small community wind projects under development, including the potential construction and commissioning of a 1.5 MW wind turbine for the Town of Portsmouth, Rhode Island, that fit well into our overall marketing strategy," said Dave Gagnon, President and CEO of AAER. "This acquisition enables AAER to be in an excellent position to serve customers such as municipalities, schools and hospitals that have local projects underway with attractive financing conditions."

The acquisition which represents less than 1% of the assets of the Company will be paid by the working capital of the Company.
