![]() | Dorex to drill soon - (DOX.V) Called the company and was told drilling on their Carmelita property in Chile would begin soon ..... was given no date except they said a news release would be issued etc. Below is information on the property. Web site Dorex Minerals Inc. Happy Trading ! upandaway ************************************************** ****** DOREX MINERALS INC. Investor Fact Sheet Dorex is preparing for an early 2008 drilling program on its Carmelita property in Chile. Carmelita, Chile - South America Dorex Minerals Inc. is a base and precious metals exploration and development company listed on the TSX Venture Exchange under the symbol "DOX" and the Frankfurt Stock Exchange under the coding "A9L". The Company's objective is to aggressively explore and develop its 24 square kilometers, 100% interest Carmelita Property, located within the Coastal Belt of the Andean Cordillera of Chile. The property is in a geological environment that is somewhat similar to that of the prolific copper producing regions to the north at Candelaria and Manto Verde. The property is very well located within the Atacama desert with elevations not more than 1,500 metres above sea level. It has easy access to the Pan America Highway, an adjacent railway line, power lines, and approximately 55 kilometers from the city of La Serena. The property has a long history of mining dating back the 1800’s where artesan miners known locally as piquineros mined the property for its rich high grade copper, silver and gold hosted breccias, and vein structures. The Company identified several targets with high grade results and began a Phase 1 exploration program, consisting of road building, prospecting, mapping, rock and soil sampling, trenching and assays. The program was designed as a preliminary evaluation of the potential for widespread porphyry or IOCG (Iron Oxide Copper Gold) style mineralization as well as evaluating the potential for smaller, higher grade structurally controlled shear zone hosted copper oxide mineralization. The program was successful in identifying a number of mineralized structures and alteration zones. A total of 56 mineralized structures were identified, most of which were found trending east-west with another set trending north-south. These structures ranged in thickness from 0.20 to 6.85 meters in thickness and traced from tens to hundreds of meters of strike extent. A total of 96 chip samples were taken along these structures and a total of 123 samples were taken from the property. In the western portion of the property, zones of widespread hydrothermal alteration and dissemination sulphide mineralization was found. Chip sampling along approximately 220 meters of out crop was taken and another continuous chip sample was taken over an outcrop of 48 meters. Previous work done on the property with a total of 40 channel samples taken during a sampling program, returned Copper grades ranging from 4.59% to 0.83%, Gold grades ranging from 1g/t to 0.1g/t and Silver grades ranging from 11 g/t to 1 g/t. The Company during 2007 has raised over $900,000 in financing to be used for further exploration of its properties. Recently the Company completed a 64.5 linear km VLF magnetic survey on 3 large alteration zones, which have been identified as drill targets. |
