Yes it does that sometimes. It either means there is not a reliable bid, due to low volume, usually meaning people are wanting to buy it at .00009 or lower, because Scott does not like 4 0's. It will also do it with stocks that have normal volume and then get pumped and have like half a bil volume or more the next day, they freeze the stocks for online trade. I have run into both of those problems numerous times. I think my branch is tired of me placing stock orders over the phone, but until they fix it then too bad. An easy way to check is go to the main page and act like you are buying a stock, put in limit and what not then click Review, it will then either tell you that you can not place it online or it will go to the next screen where you can cancel the order or place it.
Any more questions, we are in the chat room during market hours and usually before market hours also. In the Sub Penny room, I will start creating one with the new chat system

Greeting all:
I have questions for the group specifically for anyone with scottrade brokerage account. Has anyone encountered this issue when placing an online order to sell a penny stock in which the order can not be place because a message come up stating "unable to enter the order because bid or ask is not found for the symbol. please contact local branch office to place order"? If so how did you resolve it besides contacting the local branch office?
Yesterday, my order to buy 1.2M share of DIAAE @ .0001 was finally accepted having to wait since last thursday. Anyway, I went to place an online order to sell DIAAE stock at .0002 and I get a red pop up message above. Btw, thank you all for this informative thread. Good luck and great success to all.
Thanks...Steve
